The United state embassy in Tanzania was founded to help Tanzanian’s in building and developing a health, prosperous and secure nation through accountability, a democratic regime that fully responds to the needs of citizens and acts of response to threats to the security of Tanzania, it’s neighbours and the rest of the world.

The newly opened US embassy in Tanzania was officially oppened on 04 March 3003 with a memorial ceremony with approximately 700 embassy staff, friends, Tanzanian government officials, diplomatic corpsmembers, the private sector and families. The newly embassy in dar es salaam was the third US embassy to officially open in the east African community in Kampala in April 2001, Nairobi in March 2003, and in dar es salaam in March 2003.
