The ifakara health institute is a leading organization in health research in Africa with a good track record of developing, certifying and testing innovations for health. The ifakara health institute is organized in three research departments, six research units and seventy technical units. The research departments are; environmental health and ecological science, action and clinical trials and also health systems, impact assessment and policy. The research units are, grants contracts, laboratories, training and capacity building, data system and platforms, vector control product testing and chronic disease clinics.
Technical units which supports research are internal audit, knowledge and communication management, financial management, branch management and information and communication technologies. Ifakara vacation health institute have three main offices in Tanzania which are Ifakara, bagamoyo and dar es salaam. We develop a district health research institute capable of generating new knowledge and information for public health policy and action.
