NMB Bank is one of the largest commercial banks in Tanzania, providing banking services to individuals, small and medium-sized companies, government services, large businesses and agricultural loans.
The NMB Bank was established in accordance with the National Microfinance Bank Limited Incorporation Act of 1997, following the dissolution of the former National Commercial Bank, by Parliamentary Law.
Three new institutions were created at the time, namely: (a) NBC Holdings Limited (b) National Commercial Bank (1997) Limited and (c) National Microfinance Bank Limited. The bank has 226 branches, more than 9,000 agents and more than 700 ATMs across the country and is represented in all districts of Tanzania.
NMB has more than 4 million customers and employs more than 3,400 employees. It is listed on the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange and the largest stockholders are strategic partners from B. 34.9% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race were 31.8% of the population.
The Euromoney awards for excellence (NMB) have been nominated for “Best Bank of Tanzania” for 8 consecutive years from 2013-2020.
