The Grumeti fund is a private non-profit Tanzanian conservation organization whose mission is to help preserve the Serengeti environment by working closely with its primary partner of the Tanzanian government – (TAWA), and communities in Bunda and Serengeti districts along with other key public and private sector stakeholders.

Grumeti Fund supports conservation work in and around the Grumeti and Ikorongo zoos, part of the Ikona WMA, and limited use areas in Western Serengeti. Key focus areas and programs include but are not limited to resource conservation and protection, habitat and species management, ecological monitoring, conservation awareness and education, social and Ecological Research, and a set of consistent need-based community outreach programs in villages that immediately surround Grumeti approval. Today 165 volunteers protect, manage and monitor the Grumeti agreement where the nearby and barren plains of the past 15 years are filled with wildlife once again.
