Previous Years ago Dodoma town was known as Chalangu, this town had no in habitats but only migrants from other places such as Manghalans, Bambalis, Yenzele and Wanghulimba
These migrants were varied in their habits, the Manghala and Bambali lived in the forest and were hunters eating meat and honey while yenzele and wanghulimba were farmers and ranchers.
These people were naturally cowards so when other people began to enter from the northern Wambugwe areas and southern these people left
These migrants began to be called wagogo, The name Wagogo came from the big tree that was between origin and Manyoni, there fore closing other side of the tree was known as gogo. There fore when these people were asked from where they came from they said limgogo, therefore since then they became Gogo
