Kinondoni is bordered by Indian Ocean to the Northeast ilala district to South Ubungo district to the North. Kinondoni is well connected with Roads and other high ways to Morogoro, Bagamoyo
The Municipal Council is divided into Twenty (20) wards and 106 minor wards. The municipality also has 2 constituencies namely, Kawe and Kinondoni.
