The project is expected to provide 2115 MW of installed capacity , Julius nyerere hydro electric power station is hydroelectric dam under Construction in the Rufiji River in Eastern Tanzania
Although Controversial , the government approved the plans in 2018, the power station is expected to have a capacity of 2,115 Megawatts and generate 5,920 GWH of electricity yearly serving approximately 60million Tanzanians
The project is done in Rufiji river in Stiglers George 8n Selous Game park, it makes it far from generating electricity as the main purpose, a gateway to malicious flood control that occasionally causes significant losses in life and commodities and significant impact on national economy
